Jhulan Yatra at ISKCON NAIROBI

The Divine Swing Festival

Jhulan Yatra is one of the most beautiful and joyful festivals in the Vedic calendar. It commemorates the pastime of Lord Krishna and Srimati Radharani swinging together on a beautifully decorated swing in the fragrant groves of Vrindavan during the monsoon season.

At ISKCON Nairobi, this festival is celebrated with immense devotion. A grand swing (Jhulan) is elaborately decorated with fresh flowers, creepers, and shimmering lights. Devotees are invited to personally pull the ropes of the swing, offering their love and service to the Divine Couple while chanting melodious bhajans.

This festival signifies the deepening of one's relationship with the Lord through simple, loving interaction. The atmosphere is filled with the scent of jasmine and the sound of bells, creating a transcendental experience for all who participate.
